Last week at this time I was busily preparing to go to Nicaragua with my neighbour.
I had left Zihuatanejo on Sunday morning and arrived home Sunday afternoon. Then I was busy getting last minute things ready, paying bills, cutting grass, etc.
My trip was aborted as I did not do my homework thoroughly enough. I had checked on line to see if I needed a visa but on the site I looked at, it said no visa for a 2 week stay but of course I needed a valid passport. Having not traveled overseas in about 10 years, I was not up to date on all the new regulations or perhaps they are old regulations. My passport was valid for a further 3 months but Nicaragua requires a passport valid for 6 months....it was a no go for me. The lesson learned is that a valid passport means something different depending on your nationality and the country to which you are traveling.
I am over my snit about this and will be very happy to join Bob and Patches on the boat.
Tomorrow I will return to Zihua to join Bob on the boat. My plan is to return on Sunday with the dog and the car...but these are tentative plans!!!
This will be my last blog on this site as I will be doing my updates on Facebook. If you want to keep in touch check us out on Facebook

Still in Zihua
Here we are back on the boat after our morning's activities.
Our morning's activities include the dinghy ride in to shore, breakfast, a walk, shopping, our cold cappuccinos and then home again. And yes it is a mere 29C inside and out!
This is not a complaint..merely a weather report.
Bob is, of course, barely breaking a sweat whereas I am perpetually in a sweat. Having said that, I am more acclimatized now than I was when I was young.
Patches, also a heat lover, lies out in the sun until he is almost too hot to touch.
The guitar festival got into swing last night. We did not go to the opening concert as they predicted over 1000 people...not my idea of fun as it is on a beach outside...sand and bugs...I think I am getting old!
Bob has just installed a shower in the cockpit. Yeah....I can now swim and shower in the cockpit.
Yesterday this tiny sailboat arrived ...as Bob said, "when we downsize that is what we will buy....sure!!"
Putting up this blog has taken me 'forever' as the internet has been less than cooperative but here it is.
