Spring is here!!  Friends in Manitoba...is the end of winter in sight?/

This was taken October 13, 2006 at our house in Grindstone Park Manitoba.
I look at photos like this every now and then to remind me of the brutal climate that Manitobans take for granted, and even laugh about.

Bob just phoned.  He still has big seas and winds between 15 and 20 nm.   The wind has turned westerly which is making it tougher for him.  According to the forecasts it should turn north - northeast.  Now he has gone 200 miles, and if he continues at the rate he has been going he should be at his destination sometime tomorrow.  And. he did get some sleep last night...in half hour intervals but that is great.

Here is some information about Socorro Island.

Socorro Island (Spanish: Isla Socorro) is a small volcanic island in the Revillagigedo Islands, a Mexican possession lying some 600 kilometers off the country's western coast at 18°48'N, 110°59'W. The size is 16.5 by 11.5 km, with an area of 132 km². It is the largest of the four islands of the Revillagigedo Archipelago.  (from Wikipedia)

This is a photo just off Socorro Is.  I am sure that Bob will have a few of his own when he returns.

As I don't have a 'Widow's Walk' for pacing. I am cleaning closets, gardening and keeping busy.  Today will be a quieter day for me as, after lifting 2 heavy plants yesterday, my back is giving grief.
