Enjoying Marina Life

"Deanna B" with big sister "Polar Bear' in the background.

The huge power boat in the background dwarfed us.  At least their generator was quiet.
These large power boats have to run a generator as shore power won't keep all their amenities running.

My time  here is fast coming to an end.  Sunday Patches and I will hit the road for Patzcuaro.

Yesterday on our way to Melaque we had breakast at the golf course.  It is a 27 hole beauty.

Golf course looking out from the patio where we had breakfast.

Yesterday afternoon was the Isla Navidad weekly cocktail party.  Once more I was amazed at the rapidity of the disappearance of appetizers and drinks...free food and booze seems to bring out the worst in us.
Our time here has been such a luxury...walking around the hotel grounds, swimming, shopping and chatting with friends.  No need to scramble in and out of the dinghy!  No mishaps with surf and dinghy!  How relaxing!

View of the Barra de Navidad Lagoon

This photo was taken from the road out of Isla Navidad.  It is a twisty, scenic road...views of the lagoon, the town of Barra and the golf course.
On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week the marina was zipped up as the president of Mexico arrived for a visit? or something?   We were able to go in and out by water taxi but we could not take our car anywhere.  No we did not see the president...lots of security, limos and helicopters.  Even 2 navy ships in the lagoon!
On Saturday evening I am taking Bob to the restaurant here at he hotel.  We will be celebrating his birthday early as he will still be somewhere on the boat at the end of March.
