About 9 am this morning, Bob pulled up anchor and left for the 'wild blue yonder' of the Pacific.
No, he never got the permit to visit Socorro...only tried for 5 months!!
He promised me that if the weather gets nasty (of course he and I have different opinions about what constitutes nasty weather) or if he is making no headway because of lack of wind, he will head back for Mazatlan. He says he will go where the wind takes him and that is a scarey thought.
For communication he has a SAT phone and now his SSB is working well....while fixing something else he found a loose wire and after dealing with that the SSB seems to be doing what it should do.
Every morning at 9 am Bob is to phone me. In some ways that is good, but on the other hand if something happens and he can't phone I will really worry. With the SAT phone and the SPOT I will know where he is which should alleviate some of my worries.
Patches has decided that I am 'it' and sticks to me like glue...first time ever. He may have given up on Bob!!
My life has been busy since I have returned..lots of parties and just being with friends. I am very grateful for all the friends who make my life so much easier when Bob is off on one of his sailing junkets.
I do promise photos soon ...I have to move them from one computer to another and I have not had the inspiration to do that yet.
