Crashing through the waves

In a 6 - horse open dinghy
Under the surf we go
Swearing all the way
Swells on Bob’s tail grow
Giving us a fright.
What fun it is to be swamped and wet
Once more in the dinghy tonight

A day or two ago
I thought I'd take a ride
And soon Patches was jumping and
Was seated by my side;
The dinghy was red and black;
Misfortune seemed our lot;
As we got into shore a wave smacked us on the back
And we
we got upset

A day or two ago
the story I must tell
I went out on the dinghy
And on my back I fell;
A gent  was riding by
In a 15-horse open dinghy
He laughed as there
I sprawling lay
But quickly drove away
