Another hectic week but we have accomplished a lot. Last Thursday ended up being the day that we finished the move. What a day it was! Large furniture arriving. New cleaning lady. Our security door and metal work on the street windows arrived as well. Oh yes and they started putting in the wiring for the internet and telephone. By Thursday evening we were dead tired.
One week later the house is in order. TV and cable are functioning. We bought a lovely copper framed mirror for the master bathroom and hope to buy a copper bath tub ...if we feel we want to spend the money. Copper as really increased in price but we will price one.
Manuel the carpenter came on Friday to measure for some drawers under the island. Enrique is making us some black iron barstools which will match our dining room chairs.
Needless to say we are spending money like drunken sailors!!
All three of us are enjoying the house. Patches enjoys rolling in the grass and loves to play with our neighbours 4 dogs. They have become pals except for the Yorkie. She is a nasty little creature.
Our neighbours are friendly helpful people. They were originally from Nicarauga but lived in the USA for many years and then he worked in Mexico City for about 10 years. They are fluent in English and of course in Spanish. That is very helpful to me as when I have problems with Spanish I can ask them for help which they graciously give.
I go to yoga 3 times a week and after about 2 months I can see a difference in flexibility and strength That really helped when we were moving. Three of us continue to meet twice a week to exchange English for Spanish. Gemma is from Quebec and is an old friend but Chely is a new friend. She is a lovely young Mexican woman who is a joy to be around. We have great fun at our sessions...sharing our language faux pas.
When we moved our furniture into this new house it was as if we had bought the furniture for this house. That worked well for us. Now we have all our paintings hung we still have empty walls. Now I need the paintings that we left in Manitoba. Of course it gives me an excuse to buy some new wall decorations here.
Bob and Patches are watching TV in our den/family room which is on the second floor. I am at my computer in our second bedroom (also on the second floor). The second bedroom will also be my art room but I assure you guests are always welcome.

Moving again...too much
May 16, 2011
What a hectic month we have had!! We started moving on Friday. Our plan is to move the small stuff and hire a truck to move the large pieces. When we checked our furniture we realized that there are only about 5 large pieces. They are too heavy for Bob and I (actually too heavy for me) so we need a strong man to help us with that stuff.
Our house is for sale and I will be shameless and put the particulars here in my blog. The house is a good deal ..I say this as I saw many houses costing much more and I would not have made a trade.
