For the past 3 weeks we have been house hunting. During this time we have looked at about 25 houses. What a variety! On Friday we put in an offer on the second house that we had looked at. (This house impressed us the first time that we saw it, and we kept going back. I think we felt obligated to keep looking just in case there was another house in Patzcuaro that would catch our interest.) On Saturday the real estate agent called us and sort of berated us for making such a low offer...oh well. We made another offer and by Saturday afternoon we had signed the papers. Today we went to Morelia to get the permit to allow foreigners to buy property and that was done in a few hours. Six years ago when we bought the house we now live in, the process took much longer...about a week in fact. Tomorrow we will get the keys and probably sign the final papers.
I am including a link so that you can have a look at the house. The photos do not do the house justice..what more can I say.
Here is the link.

We both really like the house and its location. For those of you who know Patzcuaro we are 2 blocks from the big plaza and in the historic centre of the city. That means great walking to the market, plazas, restaurants, yoga, etc. It is also a short drive to get to the ring road. For once we will have a house with a nice road to it instead poor cobblestone roads or gravel roads (in Canada).
